The lopes brenna studio was founded in 2011 by Cristiana Lopes (Espinho, Portugal, 1978) and Giacomo Brenna (Como, Italy, 1979), both graduates of the USI-Academy of Architecture Mendrisio and collaborators of Francisco and Manuel Aires Mateus. Their studio is based in Como (Italy) and Chiasso (Switzerland). They have exhibited their work in Como, Venice, Trapani, Bari, Rome, Munich and Nice, and have been published in several international magazines. In 2017, they won the ‘Leonardo’ prize at the 12th Architecture Biennale in Minsk, Belarus. In 2016, they were selected to participate in the exhibition ‘Stanze. Altre filosofie dell’abitare’ at the XXI Triennale di Milano and won the Maestri Comacini prize. Parallel to their design work, they carry out teaching activities at the USI-Academy of Architecture Mendrisio.
