Camilo Rebelo was born in Porto in 1972. He graduated in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP) in 1996. He collaborated with Eduardo Souto de Moura between 1994 and 1998, and with Herzog & de Meuron between 1998 and 1999. In 2000 he began working as an independent architect. He was assistant professor at the FAUP from 1999 to 2013 and guest professor at the EPF Lausanne in 2008 and 2009, at the Academy of Architecture, Mendrisio, with Souto Moura, from 2010 to 2012, and at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura / Universidad de Navarra in 2012. Since 2015 he has been visiting professor at the Milan Polytechnic. He won the international design competition for the Museum of Art and Archaeology in Vale do Côa, with Tiago Pimentel (2004-2009), and received distinctions such as the Bauwelt and Baku UIA International Award in 2013 and the Douro Award in 2014. In 2008 he was nominated for Star Tracking – Global Portuguese Talent and in 2009 for Europe 40 under 40.
