Born in 1972 in Mexico City, where she founded in 2004 Tatiana Bilbao Estudio, she holds a recurring teaching position at Yale University School of Architecture and has taught at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Architectural Association School in London, Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, Rice University, Universidad Andrés Bello (Chile), and Peter Behrens School of Arts at Hochschule Dusseldorf. Her work has been published in The New York Times, A+U, Domus, among others. Bilbao has been recognized with the Berliner Kunstpreis in 2012, was named in 2010 as an Emerging Voice by the Architecture League of New York, and received the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture Prize by the LOCUS Foundation in 2014, the Impact Award 2017 for Architizer A+Awards, the Marcus Prize 2019 and the Tau Sigma Delta Gold Medal 2020.
