Patricia Sabín Díaz (Winterthur, Switzerland, 1971) and Enrique M. Blanco Lorenzo (A Coruña, Spain, 1971) graduated from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura, University of A Coruña (1997). PhD in Architecture (2009) with honors and Extraordinary Prize, Master in Architectural Restoration UDC/UPM (2002), Master of Architecture UMD-USA (2004) and MC Berlage Institute (2004). They both teach at the University of A Coruña. They have been collaborators of QRC Arquitectos and the Magazine Tectonica (1995-1999). They are both founders and partners of the office Sabin Blanco Arquitectos and members of research group IALA, History of Architecture of the University of A Coruña. They have been awarded with several first prizes in ideas competitions and their works have been distinguished with a number of awards as Europe 40 under 40 (Europe’s emerging Young Architects and Designers), Honorable Mention by the Biennale Internazionale Barbara Cappochin 2005, 44 Young Architects 2007, XII COAG Prize of Architecture, Premio Gómez Román 2015, Rodolfo Ucha Piñeiro Prize of Architecture, and other mentions and selections. Their work has been exhibited in A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela, Madrid, Paris, Rome, Brussels, Stockholm, New York, Chicago, Washington DC. During their time in the USA they curated the exhibition Galicia XXI Architecture at the Embassy of Spain in Washington DC, which continued and expanded at the Fundación Pedro Barrié de la Maza, Spain.
