Born in Siena in 1971, Riccardo Butini graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Università degli Studi di Firenze and opened his own architectural practice in 2000.

PhD, from 2003 to 2007 he worked as a tutor in the Master in Theology and Architecture of Churches at the Facoltà Teologica dell’Italia Centrale. Since 2009 he has been a Researcher at the School of Architecture in Florence, where he teaches Architectural Design.

He has participated in numerous national and international architectural competitions, addressing the themes of recovery, redevelopment of old architectural complexes and new buildings to be used for functions of public interest.

His projects and writings are published in national and international architectural volumes and magazines.

He has many publications to his credit, including the books Giovanni Michelucci. Fotogrammi del museo (2007), Architettura Sacra. Paolo Zermani (2014) and Cinque architetture (2016).

He recently obtained the national qualification for the role of Associate Professor.
