Anne Feenstra

Born in 1967 in Gouda, The Netherlands; in 1993 he obtained a M.A. from the TU Delft. After practicing architecture in Europe, in 2004 he set up his own design practice AFIR Architects and Planner in Kabul, Afghanistan. He has been teaching at the Academy of Architecture in Groningen and for four and a half year at the Kabul University. He has been lecturing in Nepal, UK, Afghanistan, Germany, France, Brazil, India and The Netherlands.
Since 2009 he has been a visiting faculty at the School of Planning and Architecture in Delhi and at the Tribhuwan University in Kathmandu, Nepal. In the same year he set up the arch i platform for research and design in Delhi, based on his experience on working on the Masterplan for Ci Bo Ga, Groningen, Rotterdam Central Masterplan and Rem Koolhaas Masterplan for Almere Hart. He is involved in other several urban projects in India and Afghanistan.
In 2012 he received the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture. Since the same year he has been actively involved in the Sustainable Mountain Architecture initiative, and in 2013 he set up the Sustainable Mountain Architecture Office in Kathmandu, Nepal.
