Born in Santiago de Chile in 1965, he graduated in 1989 from the School of Architecture of the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, before studying in 1990-1992 at the IUAV in Venice. In 2001 he was awarded from the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile as best Chilean architect under 35, and selected to be part of Architectural Record’s Design Vanguard 2008 and named Honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Architects in 2009.

He gave lectures and conferences in Mexico, Argentina, Spain, USA, Norway and Austria and in 2007 he has been visiting professor at the University of Texas. His work has been widely published. Currently he works in association with the sculptress Marcela Correa in his office in Santiago de Chile.
