Sixth Edition 2017-2018
Maki Onishi was born in 1983 in Japan. In 2006 she graduated from Kyoto University and in 2008 she completed her Master’s degree at the University of Tokyo. Between 2011 and 2013 she worked as design assistant at Yokohama Graduate School of Architecture.
Yuki Hyakuda was born in 1982 in Japan. In 2006 he graduated from the Kyoto University, where he completed his Master’s degree in 2008.
Together they founded onishimaki + hyakudayuki architects. Their works include the weekend house in Sengataki (2006), the Kemono installation in Tokyo (2008), the Ground Folly in Fukuoka (2009), the Cave in a Dream installation at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Tokyo (2009-2010), the Double-Helix House in Tokyo and the Seeing itself exhibition design by Takashi Homma in Tokyo (2011), the Home-for-All for children in Higashi-Matsushima and the Satoumi Station in Miyagi (2013). They received several awards such as the Shelter Students’ Competition Grand Prix (2005 and 2006), the Highest Award for the Graduation Design from the Kyoto University, the Island City Folly Workshop Grand Prix, the JT Smokers’ Style Competition (2006), the Kashima Award (2007), the SUS Aluminium Award for under 30 architects Grand Prix (2010), the Best Debutant of the Year (2011), the Shinkenchiku Award and the Asakura Award (2012).
