Born in 1972, Gong Dong received Bachelor & Master of Architecture from Tsinghua University, followed by a Master of Architecture at the University of Illinois. He worked for Solomon Cordwell Buenz & Associates in Chicago, then at Richard Meier & Partners and Steven Holl Architects in New York. In 2008 he founded Vector Architects. Gong Dong has been invited as a guest lecturer and critic by universities including Tsinghua University (China), National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan), University of Pennsylvania (USA), and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich. In 2014 he was appointed as design tutor at Tsinghua University, School of Architecture.
