Ole Bouman (1960) was the director of the Nederlands Architectuur Institut (NAI) in Rotterdam and curator of the 5th edition of the Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture (2013-2014) in Shenzhen. Moreover, he also created and organised a series of events focused on the redevelopment of public areas in cities which suffer or have suffered the plague of violence, such as Ramallah, Mexico City, Beirut and Pristina.

He taught at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge MA) and was a co-author of the book The Invisible in Architecture (1994) and of the RealSpace in QuickTimes (1996) and De Strijd om Tijd manifestos (2003), and he curated exhibitions for the Milan Triennale, Manifesta 3 and Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum. He is a visiting professor in numerous European and US universities, and he is a board member of THNK – The Amsterdam School of Creative Leadership.
