Born in Santiago de Chile in 1965, he graduated in 1989 from the School of Architecture of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, before studying in 1990-1992 at the IUAV in Venice. In 2001 he received an award from the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile as the best Chilean architect under 35, he was selected to be part of Architectural Record’s Design Vanguard 2008, and named Honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Architects in 2009.

He has held lectures and conferences in Mexico, Argentina, Spain, USA, Norway and Austria and in 2007 he was Visiting Professor at the University of Texas. His work has been widely published. Currently he works in association with the sculptress Marcela Correa in his office in Santiago de Chile.
