Born in 1963, he graduated in 1986 from the Faculty of Architecture at the National University of Asunción; he was awarded the 1989-1999 national prize for architecture (premio national de arquitectura 1989-1999) by the association of Paraguayan architects; he was a finalist in the 2nd edition of the “Mies van der Rohe award for Latin American Architecture” (premio Mies van der Rohe de arquitectura latinoamericana); and he represented Paraguay at the Biennali exhibitions of Venice, São Paulo and Lisbon, the latter being the capital of the Latin American culture.

He has been a visiting professor in numerous US and European universities. He founded the Gabinete de Arquitectura, an architecture firm in which he works with other associates, Alberto Marinoni and Gloria Cabral. He won the first edition of the BSI Swiss Architectural Award in 2008.
