Born in Tokyo in 1983, she graduated from Yokohama National University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Architecture and Building Science Course in 2005, and completed a Master’s degree at Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Architecture / Faculty of Fine Arts, in 2007 (Kijo Rokkaku Laboratory). After working at ondesign partners, she established the Erika Nakagawa office in 2014. Design assistant at Y-GSA 2014-2016. From 2023, full-time lecturer at Keio University Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC). Her major architectural works include Yokohama Apartment (2009, co-designed with Osamu Nishida/ondesign partners), Momoyama House (2016), and Yagoto House (2023). In 2021 she held a solo exhibition, “Erika Nakagawa: JOY in Architecture” at TOTO Gallery·MA, Tokyo. Major publications include the volume Erika Nakagawa: Architectural Studies 2007-2020 (Toto Publishing, 2021).
