Ninth Edition 2023-2024
Carles Enrich Giménez (1980) graduated from the ETSAB in Barcelona in 2005. He holds a Master’s Degree in Theory and Practice of Architectural Projects. He is a professor at the ETSAB (Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona), Head of the Master in Architecture in La Salle Barcelona and Visiting Professor at the TEC Monterey (México). He has also been Visiting Professor at the TU Wien and UNAV Pamplona, has lectured and collaborated in international workshops and seminars, as at Roger Williams University (Rhode Island), Columbia GSAPP – Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, Naples University, and the Piran Days of Architecture.
In 2013 he founded Carles Enrich Studio, a Barcelona-based practice that works at different scales in the fields of architecture, urban design and landscape, with a meticulous approach to the pre-existing conditions. Its work has gained international recognition, as shown by its nomination for the EU Mies Award (2017, 2019, 2021), and awards received in the (2016, 2018, 2021, 2023), FAD Award (2016, 2020, Spanish Biennial of Architecture 2023), CSCAE Award (2022, 2024), the Emerging Award from the Architectural Review (2021) and the Young Architect ENOR Award (2020), and has exhibited in the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine (2023) and the Venice Architecture Biennale (2012, 2016).
