Fifth Edition 2015-2016
Sou Fujimoto was born in 1971 in Hokkaido (Japan), and graduated in 1994 from the Department of Architecture of the Engineering Faculty of Tokyo University. He founded Sou Fujimoto Architects in Tokyo in the year 2000. He taught at the University of Tokyo (2004), the Tokyo University of Science and the Showa Women’s University of Kyoto. His work includes the Children’s Centre for Psychiatric Rehabilitation in Hokkaido (2006), the N House (2008), the Final Wooden House (2008), the Musashino Art University Library (2010) and the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion (2013). Fujimoto has been awarded several prizes worldwide, including the AR-Architectural Review Award Grand Prize (2006), the Japanese Institute of Architecture Grand Prize (2008), the Wallpaper Design Award (2009) and the Marcus Prize for Architecture (2013).
