Born in Porto in 1952, Eduardo Souto de Moura graduated from the University of Porto and worked with Alvaro Siza. He is one of the most important contemporary Portuguese architects, he is a lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto, and he has been a lecturer in many international universities, including the Institut d’Architecture of the University of Geneva, the University of Paris-Belleville, the Harvard Graduate School of Design and the Federal Technical Universities of Zurich and Lausanne. In 2001 he received the Gold Medal Heinrich Tessenow, and in 2011 he won the Pritzker Architecture Prize.
