He was born in 1960 in Melbourne (Australia) and in 1984 he graduated in Architecture from the University of Melbourne. After a long stay in Japan and Europe for study reasons, he settled in London, where he worked for Sir Denys Lasdun. In 1988 he returned to Australia, he worked for The Hassell Group and in 1994 he founded the Godsell Associates firm in Melbourne. In 1999 he obtained a Masters of Architecture degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. He engaged in teaching activities in Australia, in the United States and at the Royal Institute of British Architects of London.
