Born in 1963 in Orlândia (São Paulo, Brazil); Graduate (1987), Master (1998) and PhD (2005) from the Faculdade de Arquitectura e Urbanismo, Universidade de São Paulo (FAU USP). Co-founder of the office Arquitetura Paulista, between 1989 e 1995, with Alvaro Puntoni and Alvaro Razuk, and of the office MMBB arquitetos, between 1996 e 2002, with Fernando de Mello Franco, Marta Moreira and Milton Braga. He teaches at the FAU USP since 2001 and has been visiting professor in various universities, among which Arizona State University (2005), Berkeley (2006), Graduate School of Design, Harvard University (2008), Università Iuav di Venezia (2008 and 2009), MIT, Cambridge Mass. (2008, 2016-2017), Torcuato di Tella Unversity, Buenos Aires (2006 and 2010), Yale University (2013), ETH Zurich (2013-2014). He is Honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
