Sophie Delhay is an associate professor and director of the Section Architecture at EPFL-ENAC in Lausanne, where she coordinates the “Habitat” specialisation and directs the Domestic-city Lab research laboratory. She graduated from the ENASP Lille in 1999 and co-founded the boskop architecture cooperative in Lille, building a widely acclaimed complex of 55 experimental flats in Nantes. In 2006 she was awarded by the French Ministry of Culture (“Nouveaux albums des jeunes architectes”) and in 2010 she founded her own studio in Paris, which focuses exclusively on housing and explores how architecture can respond to social and climate change. She has taught at the architecture schools (ENSA) in Lille, Nantes and Versailles. Her work “Unité(s)” was awarded the Equerre d’argent in 2019 and in 2022 she received the Schelling Prize for her theoretical work.
