Dieter Dietz is an architect based in Zurich and Lausanne, founder of dieterdietz.org and professor for architectural design at EPFL in Lausanne, where he is currently director of the Section d’architecture and directs the ALICE laboratory (Atelier de la conception de l’espace). Projects on habitat, public space and the city serve as a point of departure for investigations relating landscape, urban environment and architecture to our embodied existence in space. The work conducted with ALICE and his practice has been awarded with the Swiss Art Award, the London Festival of Architecture Main and Signpost Awards, or the Design Preis Schweiz. Exhibitions include contributions at the Venice Biennale of Architecture, the São Paulo International Architecture Biennale, the Shenzen & Hong Kong Biennale of Architecture, the Beijing Today Art Museum, or Dwell on Design in Los Angeles. Dieter Dietz has been educated at ETH in Zurich and at Cooper Union in New York.
